"A
Little Bitter", formed in June 2004 in Coalisland Co Tyrone N Ireland.
The band was formed with the intention to write songs with good musicianship,
intelligent lyrics, big choruses that people could enjoy. Each member
of the band has many eclectic influences, many years of gigging experience
and are multi-instrumentalists. The band comprises of Jonny Armstrong
Vocals/Guitar, Anthony "Keg" Campbell Drums & Seamy Donnelly
Bass. The name "A Little Bitter" was taken from the title
of an Alice In Chains song that appeared on the soundtrack of "The
last Action Hero", this is the second time we have used the name
the first being in 1993. We chose the name because everyone feels a
little bitter at some point and as a phrase we thought it rolled well.
The ALB sound has been described as Rock, Metal, Grungy with a little
prog.
A Little Bitter have adopted an intense work ethic since
their inception writing material, crafting songs, gigging as much as
possible. Testimony to this work ethic is that A Little Bitter have
performed almost 100 gigs to date in their career and released 3 EP's
between December 04 and August 05 namely the self-titled "A Little
Bitter", "Misconstrued" and "Nothing". Each
release marked a growth in the evolution of the band from the song construction,
recording at Manor Park Studio and the inclusion of artwork by Jason
Bullock of The Pixel Factory Design House whose contributions have added
a striking visual to the bands strengths.
A
Little Bitter have now completed their 1st album "The Blood"
which was released on the 29th September 06. The album was Produced,
Engineered, Recorded and Mixed by Neal Calderwood at Manor Park Studios.
Jason Bullock has also completed the final album Artwork. The album
contains all the recorded material to date from the earlier limited
released EP's. These songs have been re-written, re-arranged, re-recorded
or re-mixed, plus some never heard before material was written to finish
of the album. To support the release of "The Blood" A Little
Bitter have implemented a rigorous gigging schedule right across N Ireland
and are always on the look out for gig opportunities. Book us and we
will come.
As we enter into 2007 ALB plan to continue to gig heavily,
recording a stripped down acoustic version of "The Blood"
which will be available as a free download and record the follow up
to "The Blood" for a late 07 early 08 release.
