GIANNI PONTILLO- PURE INC

Swiss band Pure Inc. began life back in 1994 as Pure Yeast. After building up a solid following in their home country they released 2 demos, ‘Young Hearts on Fire’ & Beyond the Light’, before releasing their first full length album ‘Genius’ in 2001. This brought the band major success in Switzerland with the title track becoming a Radio hit & the band cemented their live reputation with support slots for major bands like fellow countrymen ‘Gotthard’ & MSG.

In 2003 the band released their second album which was self titled, they have just finished mixing their third CD which should be released in January 2006. Lead vocalist Gianni Pontillo answers Sav’s 10 questions.

1. How are you, where are you?
Hi, I'm Gianni, singer of the Band Pure Inc. and I feel ok and you?

2. What’s currently happening in Doro's world?
Don't know what happens in Doro's world but I hope she's fine. (some crossed wires with the questions on this one-Sav)

3. What has been the best concert by one of your peers you ever attended?
I guess Madrid and Poland they just went mad

4. What was the first song you ever wrote/performed?
Well it was a song I wrote with Pure Yeast before we renamed us Pure Inc. a very old one I was about 16 years old and the song was called "Nightwitch".

5. Do you remember the first place/ time you stepped on stage to play?
Yes, it was amazing I was six years old.

What happened?
Someone was getting married so I jumped on stage and sang italian's finest tunes.

6. What performer are you in awe of? Why?
Every singer that is capable to perform with charisma and sing every note to the best. M.James keenan for example

7. What would be the high point & low point of your career?
Well, everything that brings the band a step forward is a high point and If someday I make music only for money and without enjoyment then I'd better stop. There are a lot of lame bands out there doing that.

8. What is you favorite city/town to have a show in & Why?
Brazil would be amazing because of the culture I would like to see them going crazy about us but there are a lot of nice places though.

9. If you could do something else what would it be?
Being a soccer player, running behind one ball the whole day and get well paid.

10. What color is the sky in your world?
Well, when I'm stoned the sky's rainbow but usually it looks blue or gray to me
