HENNING PAULY- CHAIN/FRAMESHIFT/SOLO

1. How are you, where are you?
At the moment I am in my underwear, on my couch in Twin Peaks, California, about 6000 feet high on a mountain.
My three dogs (Zappa, Congo and Fon-Yu) are lying all around me and I am doing fine. I'll do a lot better once I've had some coffee 'cause I just got up.

2. What's currently happening in your world?

I have no clue and I don't want to know, it'll just piss me off to know end and there's nothing I can do about it anyway.

3. What has been the best concert by one of your peers you ever attended?

By one of my peers? So you mean progressive rock? I don't really like progressive rock too much and I also don't really like live shows too much, so I don't think I have an answer to this question.

4. What was the first song you ever wrote/performed?

It is called "Animals ain't free" and that was on December 19th 1990.

5. Do you remember the first place/ time you stepped on stage to play?

Some time during 1990, can't really remember what concert that was exactly, but it was a lot of fun, I remember that much.

6. What performer are you in awe of? Why?

Steve Morse, because he seems to be such a down to earth guy with an incredible sense for melody and phrasing.
Hanson, 'cause those three guys can write amazing hooklines.
Steve Vai, 'cause he is so NOT down to earth and simply a pure genius, not always the most amazing music, but always genius.

7. What would be the high point & low point of your career?
High points...working with Michael Sadler, James LaBrie, Mike Keneally, finding my writing partner Matt Cash...
Low points...working with Sebastian Bach. The resulting music is great, the experience of making it was humiliating.

8. What is you favorite city/town to have a show in & Why?

I don't play live.

9. If you could do something else what would it be?

Anthropology, Zoology, Marine Biology...maybe a video editor if I had to...

10. What color is the sky in your world?

Let me ask you a question back...what kinda drugs are you on? The list of possible answers is short and no matter where you are you usually get all of them at one time or another...grey, white, blue, orangy, red, black, black with white sprinkles and obviously any combinations of the above.
