CONNY BLOOM- ELECTRIC BOYS/HANOI ROCKS
Hi! I'm in Stockholm at the moment, keeping myself busy working on my new solo album. Q. What's currently happening in Conny Bloom's world? Apart from the recording, a UK tour coming up with Hanoi Rocks (playing with them since 1 1/2 year back). We're also in the process of writing for the next Hanoi album.
Bob Marley at the Tivoli in Stockholm. Q. What was the first song you ever wrote/performed? First riff I learnt to play on electric guitar was "Sweet Jane" by Lou Reed. My first song I think was something that sounded a bit like "Sabbath bloddy sabbath".. Very hippie trippy stuff.... Q. Do you remember the first place/ time you stepped on stage to play? What happened? Yeah! It was at school. Head master came up on stage after 20 seconds and stopped us, complaining it was too loud. Q. What performer are you in awe of? Why? Any body who follows his/her heart, and does his/her thing regardless of what other people think. Q. What would be the high point & low point of your career? High: Quite a few occasions come to mind.. I tend to think the best moment is now. On a commercial level, I guess things were going quite well when MTV America was playing "All lips and hips" on heavy rotation for a few weeks. Low: Falling of stage last year and ending up in hospital. Being electrocuted in LA at rehearsal.
Hard to say. I'd like to go back to Japan soon.. Tokyo maybe? Or LA. Hanoi Rocks inspired the whole sunset strip generation but never did one gig in LA. It would be great being a part of that. Q. If you could do something else what would it be? Tattoo artist perhaps. Or I'd be building guitars. Or I'd be in jail. Q. What colour is the sky in your world? Today it's grey and rainy outside, but in my mind the sky is very colourful. Find out more about Conny at
